Coal Stockpiles

Coal stockpile surveys were initially performed by a two-man survey team with traditional instrument and involved one person physically walking over the stockpile.

This method, whilst cumbersome and posing some safety concerns, was for a period of time the only way to gain data on coal stockpile volumes.

With the advent of reflectorless technology, these same stockpiles can now be surveyed from the air without a person physically walking over the stockpile.

SDResources can now offer the same safe method of measuring stockpiles utilising the eBee for aerial photography, processing an orthomosaic and converting to 3 dimensional data for calculation of the stockpile volume

The advantage over other technologies lies in the quick response time available utilising the eBee, ensuring your results within 1 – 2 days from the flight.
